Grand Hotel Adriatic I - Opatija

The staff was really friendly. I was surprised by the diningroom which was briliant and the food extremely delicious. I also liked the swimming pool and sauna.

The location, the sea view and the cleanliness

I missed the private beach and the beach was too small and was in shadow after 2 PM.

Rooms and general premises in the renovated (newer) part of the hotel were looking good. Price for accomodation was ok.

1) A/c can be regulated from reception only, I.E. makes you call teh reception if you want to change anything. 2) Personnel especially at the reception is extremely unfriendly 3) Food both for dinner and breakfast is very poor. It is clear that cost are cut on food. Does not correspond to its 4 star rating. Rather 2 or poor 3. 4) No outdoor pool (!) and the beach is tiny and unequiped. 5) Prices for additional services / goods are very high (does not match to the hotel level. 6) So -called garden view is awful. 7) no wi-fi internet in the rooms. just lobby.

Only the pool was included in the room price, even though there is a jacuzzi right next to it and both are apart from the welness centre.

It was a good combination of location and value. Breakfast was good, except the coffee. The service was great. Especially with regard to parking the car.

No non-smoking rooms. But I guess that is typical for the region. The pool is indoor-only.

Comfortable hotel at a beautiful place - and for a bargain price. Lovely souvenir shop on the ground floor.

Simply overcharged restaurant! For 100 hrk = approx. 15 eur we have got a table wine!! This sort of low-cost slops should not be served at all, in a hotel of this category!!

Good location, food

The bathroom was dirty, not enough parking place parking situation is totally crazy. The room was smell cigarette smoke

Excellent location of the beach ,just a bit away from other hotel beaches , clean sea .... excellent food selection with two very friendly young cooks at show cooking counter ...clean rooms , good coffee at the bar and a very friendly bar attendant

coffee machine in the restaurant ..... waiters in the restaurant never gave us receipts for drinks we paid during our meals ..... selection of folk music at dinner poorly chosen and not suitable for 4 star hotel

- Charges for everything (e.g. towels at hotelpromenade) - Rooms were small, <4 star category - Crowded eating area, food was just ok, they started to take away food 15mins before breakfast ends - Staff just ok, young (seemed <15years) "workers" at breakfast and dinner (i hope pupils doing internships or so?) - Cold small hotel pool, 9 Euro to use jacuzzi? - Overall Opatija very very crowded.

We stayed one night during the weekend. We had halfboard and meals were great, all buffet with lots of various food. We reserved a parking and we were able to find space in front of the hotel. Rooms are new, clean and we felt really cosy and comfortable. As we were there for only one night I reserverd room with view in the garden not the sea side view but in the end room in fact had sea side view.

Check in was a bit slow and exactly at 13h although many people came earlier and had to wait. Although hotel was full I thing they could do better with check in. Air conditioning is centraly managed so you cant turn it off yourself in the room. You simply call reception and they turn it off in a second.

Hotel for all ....... promenade, the beach, lots of cafes ... magnificent Austro-Hungarian old town .... history inspires reflection and rest ....... near ... many opportunities for sightseeing, walking, swimming .... for people who want to relax and loneliness ... or a lot of fun and relaxation ... all in one place ...
